2. The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang

The Gaslight Anthem had some big shoes to fill this year considering the praise they received for their previous effort, The ‘59 Sound.  Brian Fallon and the band proved that they are no flash in the pan and released American Slang which challenges their last record in terms of awesome tracks and a great rock/blues/soul sound.

3. Eminem - Recovery

Eminem followed up last years Relapse (which appeared atop my 2009 album list) with Recovery in 2010.  Interestingly enough Recovery was scheduled to be 2009 release only to be delayed.  Slim Shady continues to prove that he is one of, and if not the best MC’s in the game.

4. Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns

2010 marked the return of Linkin Park with the concept album A Thousand Suns.  The record deviates even further from their typical sound and varies greatly from hip hop to acoustic tracks.  The package as a whole flows smoothly front to back and it usually finds it’s way into my regular rotation.
