9. Band of Horses - Infinite Arms

Band of Horses released their third album in 2010, Infinite Arms.  The band started experimenting more with their country/blues side.  While this normally this would cause me to become concerned, they did it in a way that still focused on their rock roots.

10. The Hold Steady - Heaven Is Whenever

The Hold Steady followed up from their last record Stay Positive in 2010.  Heaven Is Whenever carried over some of the rock element of their previous record and had enough good tracks to break my 2010 list.

It’s the end of the year and that means it’s time for my annual top albums list.  This year I’ll be counting down my favorite 10 records from 2010.  But first, one honorable mention that didn’t make the top 10:

Weezer - Hurley

This years list has only one honorable mention and it’s really got nothing to do with the actual content of the album, but instead the name and cover!  Weezer gets props for using Hurley from Lost as their album art and (apparently) their album title.  Actor Jorge Garcia actually appeared live with Weezer numerous times this year.
